POETRY CIRCLE
01.03.25
6pm - 8pm
18 Ritchie Ave, Blairgowrie VIC 3942
Join Mornington Peninsula artist, Bri Horne for an intimate, relaxed and soft space to listen to and share poetry.
Something special unfurls when we gather, sit in circle together, and share from a place of presence and vulnerability. Poetry offers us a way to hold and express the complexities, the beauty and the pain of what it is to be human. Through listening to and sharing poetry, we can come back to the truth that is so easily forgotten — we are not alone, we are in fact, deeply connected.
We will begin with a short guided meditation, coming back to presence, coming back to oneself. Bri will share some of her unedited poetry, and anyone who wishes to share a poem can do so whenever they feel the nudge. A collection of poetry books will be available to read and be shared from. Bring your own poetry, bring a poem you connect with, bring special lyrics, bring anything that feels like poetry to you.
An intimate gathering of open-hearted humans, this poetry circle is an opportunity to connect, feel seen, and participate in the power of sharing and listening. Bri’s intention is that you will walk away feeling more alive, more connected to yourself and one another, and more in-tune with the beauty that surrounds us.
The space Bri holds is sensitive, grounded, and nonjudgmental. Everyone is welcome, no poetry experience is required, sharing is completely optional. Come as you are, the full spectrum of human emotion is welcome. Go home with a full heart and a limited edition handmade zine with poetry and photography by Bri Horne.
What to bring: A poem to share (optional, can be your own or a poem you connect with)
Refreshments included: A beverage of your choice (wine or non-alcoholic drink), light grazing platter
Note: If you’d like to attend the Weaving Workshop beforehand, you are more than welcome to relax at Camillo House between 5pm and 6pm. You might like to bring additional food (refrigeration facilities available).
