HIGH CONTRAST EXPLORES THE INTERPLAY OF VASTLY DIFFERENT MATERIALS, AND HOW THEY HAVE BEEN LINKED THROUGHOUT HISTORY. ROCKS AND CERAMIC WEIGHTS WERE USED TO KEEP THE WARP UNDER TENSION, AND ARE SOME OF THE ONLY REMAINING ARTEFACTS TRACING WEAVING’S INCREDIBLY LONG AND VAST HISTORY, AS THE WEAVINGS THEMSELVES HAVE DISINTEGRATED.
THE WORKS LOOK AT THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE SOFTNESS AND TACTILITY OF CLOTH, AND HOW IT CAN BE GIVEN FORM THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF THESE DIFFERENT MATERIALS.
